Bridal Portraits

Got to do bridal portraits for Pat's niece this weekend.  Here are a few of our favorites.  Get to do another bride next week!

Last Night's Dinner

Last night I made a couple of new recipes.  I am notorious for bringing new recipe's we've never tried to family functions.  Pat does not think this is a good idea and his sister always makes fun of me.  Anyway, this was Radish Salsa and a new Chicken and Shrimp Curry recipe (I have about a dozen variations).  They both turned out really good.  I am thinking about putting a cook book together of my favorite recipes and doing the photography.

Jumpy Jumpy

I had to video Gabby @ the fitness center last night.  Every time I take her in the nursery she goes straight to the trampoline to do her "jumpy jumpy."

Posing toddlers and cows

We took a little Sunday drive to Charleston and found some prairies that will be gorgeous in a few weeks when the wildflowers are blooming.  As we were leaving, a group of cows walked up to the fence and were completely still like they were posing for me.  Does anyone know how to correct "blue eye" for cows?  Not quite the same as red eye!

I took Gabby to the library for toddler time this morning and she kept yelling "I wanna eat!"  She was doing this through the whole story time and music.  I kept telling her that we had to wait until after.  I didn't realize she liked to go for the goldfish crackers and juice.  Last time was Kool-aid though.  Maybe she remembered that.

I know these aren't as funny as Pat's college pics, but here are some I've taken lately.  I am very excited about scouting out some good places to take Spring pictures!  Daylight savings time this Sunday.  Yeah!

Ha Ha

Okay, so Pat has made fun of me for doing Facebook for a long time.  He got on there recently and was tagged in this picture from college.  He had a funny story to go along w/ the photo.  He was a Fiji at U of A and volunteered to be on the committee to recruit new fraternity members.  He said they got a lot of money to do this and ended up just having parties all the time and not really recruiting anyone.  I hate to imagine how crazy his college years were.   When he was starting school at Fayetteville I would have been in 6th grade.  That's funny to think about.

Feeling better

Gabby was sick for about 8 days!  She's finally better and now I don't feel good.  I guess I shouldn't complain since this is the first time we've been sick this yr. / winter.  

I scraped my pennies and bought a new lens for my camera, but I haven't even felt like experimenting much yet.  Hopefully this will pass soon.

Play Date @ the Park

Gabby got to meet her friends Isabelle and Carly Grayce @ the park Thurs.  She has gotten so fearless on the big playground equipment.  She even wanted to get in the big swing.  I was pushing her and she decided to let go and fall out.  Oops.  I caught the swing just in time so it didn't knock her in the head.  Close call!

Sunday's bike ride

Yesterday was a great day for a bike ride, so we hooked Gabby's trailer up to Pat's road bike and off we went.  We had not been on the bikes in a long time and Pat was using his clip in pedals.  I think he was a little nervous when we would stop.  One time at Ben Geren he fell over clipped in and a truck full of people laughed at him.  Gabby absolutely loved it.  Every time I would ride by her she had a little grin on her face.

Saturday afternoons are the best

Spent the first part of the day outside reading one of the photography books I've recently ordered on Amazon.  The concept of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO are finally coming together in my brain.  I practiced changing camera settings on my dog Benny.  :-)

Also went to see "He's Not That Into You" w/ my friend Kim.  It was cute, but a little long.  It's been so long since I've gotten to go to a movie I guess I just wasn't used to sitting still so long.

Pat was nice enough to watch Gabby.  Yeah, the house was a wreck when I got home and she didn't have a shirt on, but they had fun and that's all that really matters I guess.

A Day at the Farm

Yesterday we went to Pat's sister's farm to celebrate her 50th b-day party.   That's her with Pat's mom in the picture.  It was a lot of fun playing w/ all of her animals.  She has 2 miniature donkeys, 8 dogs, turkeys, goats, and chickens.  Gabby got scared away by one of the roosters, but for the most part it was a good day!  Can't wait to go back in the Spring when the wildflowers are out.

Here comes the sun

Sooooooo glad the sun is out today!  Talk about stir crazy inside this week.  I hope all you friends up in NW AR are good and not too much damage from the storm.  Pat went to Memphis for a Lakers game, so Gabby and I are hanging out this weekend.
